I just had a very enjoyable 3 hours.. playing.. THIS! For those of you who aren’t adept in reading Steam URL’s by their ID, it’s Safe Cracker. Think puzzles, driven by a pathetic story. It remind’s me a lot of 7th Guest and it’s sequence 11th Hour (the 4 CD’s are within arm’s reach of my desk!). Having missed my dead line for dinner I cracked open a few cold ones and ploughed through this bad boy – a lot of fun if you like puzzles. It’s very well priced at $5 on Steam, and if you get it within the next week or so it’s half price.. bargain.
Thanks BP

Anyone been following Civilisation 5? If not, you should be! Civ has got to be one of the most successfully games around, I remember picking up the original in 91 or 92. The latest incarnation is due out the end of this year – check out some info and a trailer here.
Why? Because I was born 26 years.. 26! That’s over half way to the first milestone.. age creeps up on you in funny ways. Ever since year 8 I don’t feel like I’ve changed much, playing the class clown and acting out like someone with ADD – now I’m 26 and things don’t seem that different when I’m with friends. Do we ever change?
2 exams down and the last one on Friday, going ok I suppose. It’s been 4 or 5 odd years since I was at uni properly and this whole exam thing is odd. I’m studying Internet Software Development as my major, with a handful of minors – basically it’s Programming with some Internet non sense thrown in. In an effort to finish my degree off in a year I’ve decided to do one of the fast track units over the winter break, madness I know.
A collection of some interesting articles over the past few days:
I marvel at the creativity of some people, this is a cracker:
There has been a bit of interest of lack in going retro, bringing back the 8 bit (or at least paying homage). One of my favourites which was my ring tone for a good year is an 8 bit remix of Chocolate Rain.. yup I went there and so did coda!
Brings back memories of classic games like Shinobi, Contra, Mega Man – the good old days. It’s all about graphics these days, gah give me some frigging game play. I think despite Nintendo’s criticism their focus on game play is a move in the right direction – there is only so far we can go before photo realism is here.
